9.013 Molecular & Cell Neurosci II
Survey course and primary literature review of major topic areas in molecular and cellular neurobiology. Covers new technologies, genetics, epigenetics, neurovasculature, glia function, homeostatic plasticity, neuromodulators of circuit function, and neurological and psychiatric disease mechanisms. Much of the materials covered in 9.013/7.68 assumes knowledge of materials covered in 7.65/9.015 (Molecular & Cellular Neuroscience Core I). If you do not have this background you are encouraged to consult a graduate level textbook in neuroscience such as Principles of Neural Science (Kandel et al.). 9.013/7.68 covers major topics in Molecular and Cellular Neurobiology with an emphasis on critical thinking, knowledge of major techniques, and scientific writing.
