THE BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN (1935) -- (famous) excerpt: Laboratory sequence showing the creation of the female monster. The score for the film was by Franz Waxman, a German emigre in Hollywood, who had a number of great successes. This was the second Frankenstein movie... the original FRANKENSTEIN was made in 1931, and as good and innovative as that movie was/is, it has almost no musical score! Universal was not a "Major" studio at this time—its movies tended to be low-budget. The studio produced several more films in the original Frankenstein series. but none of them have quite as impressive a score as this.
