What is Perusall?

An online social annotation platform that encourages active and collaborative learning
Students can annotate and discuss around a variety of media types, including text, images, video, and audio

How can Perusall help with teaching & learning?

Students:
- Can view, respond to, and upvote each other's annotations - a way for students to asynchronously discuss a text or other media
Instructors/TAs:
- Can leave annotations the same way students do, so you can respond to student questions and prompt students with questions or things to pay attention to while annotating
- Can view analytics on when students are most active in the Perusall assignment, posting annotations, etc.
- Can add quizzes to assign alongside readings, videos, podcasts, or other materials to gauge student understanding.

Perusall & Canvas Integration

From the course navigation menu: 'Settings' > 'Navigation' tab > drag 'Perusall' from the bottom list to the top list > click 'Save' at the bottom of the page. Perusall should now appear as an option in the course navigation menu.
