Recording Multiple Streams in Zoom
If you plan to record Zoom sessions that will be pushed to Panopto, you may want to allow multiple streams to be recorded so that viewers can switch between the different streams when they watch the lectures. If the Zoom recording is going to be edited, the individual streams can be downloaded so the editor can do a switched edit of the presenter and shared screen sources.
The person scheduling and hosting these Zoom sessions (i.e., instructors) can set up this option by going logging into Zoom via mit.zoom.us and going to Settings > Recording tab > Cloud recording section. Check off 'Record active speaker, gallery view and shared screen separately' as well as the three checkboxes that appear below it ('Active speaker,' 'Gallery view,' and 'Shared screen').
