2.013/2.733 Engineering Systems Design

2.013/2.773 instructs students on the fundamentals of system design using a "learn while doing" approach. It assists in the transition from engineering student to professional engineer and covers topics that include best design practices, team dynamics, innovation as part of design, project planning, risk management, and estimation and analysis as part of the design process. There is a significant hands on part to this class. This year, because of Covid-19, there will be opportunities to conduct hands-on work from home. As a curtesy, we are making the Beaver Works machine shop available to students that are in the area and qualify to be on campus. However, no formal on campus laboratory work will be expected and the class will be taught fully online.
