EC.050 Recreate Experiments/ History
Create and re-create experiments fueled by your own questions and curiosities. Discover your interests in dialogue with historical figures and indigenous experience. Explore hands-on. Listen to voices of others, now and in the past. Examine injustice. Build community that is relational. Encourage each other’s curiosity, vulnerability and growth. Your own story uncovers insights for educational research. Past projects: following shadows; watching the sky; historical instruments; reenacting historical and feminist drama,; art using historical methods; making educational or high speed videos; collaborative experiments; presentations; MIT History… Whatever your interests, this is a place to explore them.

6.S090 nanoStories: Workshop on science communication at the nanoscale
Designed for students with an interest in science communication and STEAM outreach. Guided by instructors, in each two-hour class students will explore a new topic, jointly developing an instructional narrative to be told in text, video, and/or interactive multimedia. Outside of MIT labs, nanoscience and nanotechnology appear mysterious. Help us demystify them! The content of the classes will reflect research/exploratory interests of participants.

SP.247A Exploring Majors at the Intersection of Engineering and Life Sciences & Medicine
Interactive introduction to the several majors at MIT that offer curricula bridging engineering and life sciences, through presentations by faculty, current students, and alumni. Representatives of each department (courses 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 6-7, 7, 9, 10, and 20, as well as the BME minor) cover aptitudes of typical students, culture, class offerings and roadmaps, and unique opportunities. Provides first-year students practical advice about how to select, prepare for and thrive in each major.
