In particular, see "How to prepare" there, since there are some things to do before classes begin, such as a pre-semester questionnaire and pre-semester reading to prepare for a diagnostic quiz on September 10.  You need to be on the MIT network or on the MIT VPN in order to view the reading.

For those of you who have not completed 18.100: I will not require you to request permission in advance to register for 18.701, but I will expect you to do well on the diagnostic quiz.  If you have significant experience with reading and writing proofs, and are willing to put in a little extra time to fill the gaps in your knowledge, then you should be able to take 18.701.  You may share this with your advisor.
