Group Discussion: Thoughts on the latest reading ("This can't go on" "All possible views..." "The year the singularity was cancelled")

Do you broadly agree with these, reject the basic premises, or think something fundamental was missing? Please share a few thoughts. This could be related concepts and content, anything that should be assigned next year, book-length material, useful examples in fiction, etc

Also, if there were any works of fiction that particularly shaped your views of the what the future would be like - whether or not you currently hold those views - please share why that was, and whether it might be possible to write fiction that wouldn't be refuted by these arguments.
